How to Add Aurora to MetaMask
The safest and easiest way to add the Aurora EVM compatible blockchain, built on NEAR, to your MetaMask Wallet is with ChainList. The ChainList app allows users to search for any Web3 network to easily connect at the click of a button.
That said, all you need to is search for 'Aurora' on Chainlist, find the box and select the 'Connect Wallet' button. Once you do this, your wallet will be automatically connected to the Aurora Mainnet.

What is Aurora?
The Aurora blockchain is an EVM-compatible decentralized platform that uses the NEAR Protocol, which is a public, open-source blockchain platform designed to enable the development of high-performance decentralized applications (dApps). The NEAR Protocol is based on a unique consensus algorithm called "Nightshade," which is designed to allow for fast, secure, and scalable transaction processing.
The NEAR Protocol also features a number of other advanced features, such as sharding and cross-shard communication, which help to ensure that the Aurora blockchain is able to handle a high volume of transactions and remain performant even as the network grows. Aurora is built on top of the NEAR Protocol and is designed to be a platform for the development of financial applications and other decentralized applications that require high levels of security and performance.
